An esoteric and clandestine dance academy uses dancers to summon an ancient evil through a couple of battling witches, a ncecromancer and then, boom, chaos. I miss anything? This is a violent and drab account of what malevolence lies beneath the surface of prestige in a 70s Berlin school of dance.
Once the layers begin to peel back, the story gets surreal and viscerally dark and I loved it. Hated how slow some of this movie was as it crawled towards the insane finale but I did really enjoy it. I also feel it walked the line of mystery versus confusing in parts to me. Also, compared to the original, I feel this one kinda missed out on some of the more psychedelic facets that highlighted the horrors and moods but the subtlety and nuance was done perfectly.
