This is the kind of movie that politely throws realism out of the pontoon and then strangles the alligator it landed in. It’s gory, ridiculous, and delightfully self-aware—like a love letter to every cheesy slasher from the 80s, written in fake blood and southern charm. The characters make choices that would make an idiot scream, “Don’t!” but that’s exactly why it’s such a blast. It’s not trying to win awards—it just wants you to laugh, cringe, and maybe check behind the couch once or twice. Watch it with friends, a bowl of popcorn, and a glass of sangria strong enough to make you forget the plot holes. This was, indeed, classic, American horror filmmaking.
