Elvira: Mistress of the Dark
7/10
This is the cinematic equivalent of a black velvet painting that dug itself out of a grave, teased its hair, and waltzed onto the silver screen. Cassandra Peterson’s Elvira struts through small-town puritan outrage. It’s campy, it’s kooky, and it’s got more double entendres than a Vegas buffet has hookers. Watching Elvira deliver one-liners so sharp they could slice ya feels like sipping sangria from a crystal skull — classy yet abrasive.
The film itself is a fun lil cocktail of horror, humor, and hot-pink rebellion. Between the bad guys, the batty aunt’s inheritance, and Elvira’s unholy cleavage magic, it’s impossible not to have fun — unless, of course, you’re allergic to awesomeness. Every scene feels like Halloween night crossed with happy hour, and by the time the finale hits, you’ll be wishing you’d worn something with sequins.
