This is a small story in a small town with small characters and a big delivery. I really enjoyed the infectious nature of the wendigo lore. Always wanted to write something about that and this movie was exactly what I was hoping for. Jesse Plemmons is always a win for me (did you see Civil War? Holy balls) and the rest of the cast does a wonderful job building up the creepy suspense.
Loved the beast itself once it gets ‘born’ and the effects of law enforcement coming to terms with it being real. Also a sucker for Pacific Northwest scenery. Hated a lot of the psychological fuck-ups the story gave those kids. I felt there were also a lot of focused on aspects that didn’t pan out into anything relevant. Still, a fun time.
