7/10
Maybe I’m just feeling nostalgic or maybe it’s all that leftover sangria I downed a few minutes ago but this is an instant classic and I’m going to throw up. Bob Clark knows his Christmas, man. Can’t wash out that 70s, smoke scented, cognac drenched stain on film and for that I am grateful. The textures and vibrancies were next level and this is a seasonal go-to in this house. When a sorority is plagued by calls and missing persons, the girls scramble with the help of police to unravel the mystery before they all die.
Loved the vibe and the cinematography with the chaotic thread of seasonal storytelling. Hated that we really get no bookends on it other than a little glimpse into the maniacs story through his phone calls. Either way, I’m definitely going to prank call (spy on) a sorority… for Christmas.
