Big Clive Barker fan here and I ate this shit up. Loved Lord of Illusions. It was incredible seeing hardened private eye, Harry D’Amour, who specializes in the occult, meeting his match when followers of Nix try and revive him. The story is messy and so is the violence but I considered that all part of the fun. There’s magic, black magic, demonic possessions, Daniel Von Bargen and Famke Janssen so, …yeah.
Loved ye olde Barkerian works on celluloid. He tells a fun story well. Hated some of the cgi. Imaginative and ambitious but we just weren’t there yet.
