Night of the Living Dead (1968)

Posted on November 3, 2024

6.5/10
George Romero hits it home with this vintage gate-opening of the shambling corpses we have all come to love as the dinner table zombie. Trapped in a farm house and desperate, we see the characters unfold into monsters and heroes (if they don’t explode or get hacked to death by their own daughter).

Loved the black and white era of burgeoning classics and this is the epitome of it all. Ooph at that ending. Did love the hunting party aspect, though.
Hated the incompetence of some of the character choices but that’s being human, I guess.
