Herbert West is one of my all time favorite characters. He’s smug, smart, sassy and ready to kill to prove he’s right. The campiness and gore effects work perfectly together and the Lovecraftian influences are always a plus.
Loved Jeffrey Combs and the monsters/zombies (especially the Dr. Hill). Also the neon green reagent is iconic.
Hated how silly some of the effects are. I know, I know. It’s charming and quaint and you don’t mess with classics but I felt a little more finesse couldn’t have hurt a few scenes (cough, cough, the dead cat attack, cough)
