To say this movie is beautiful is like saying the Mona Lisa is boring; everybody knows, nobody talks about it. I loved the ‘Dracula on the high seas’ approach to the novels implications and thought the creature effects were on point. If we know the original story, we know the outcome of the groups attempts but why the hell didn’t they attack at daytime?! Anyway, “Captain Dracula” is a pretty cool nickname.
Loved the monster but don’t understand why he didn’t fly to land when feasible rather than subject theyselves to being hunted. Hated the little boys funeral fandango. It, again, was beautiful but fuck, that was rough.
