What can I say? I’m a sucker for anything Lovecraftian, especially if taken seriously with a budget and we get a full-scale look at the big guy. Really was a fan of the concept; a drilling team on the ocean floor breaches R’lyeh. We have shoggoth-esque people-things creeping around the claustrophobia like it was Alien and suddenly, boom; Cthulhu!
Loved Kristen Stewart in this and seeing a big screen depiction of Cthulhu. Hated TJ Miller’s death. Not because I loved him so much but egads, that looks like the worst way to go.
