I poured myself a nice sangria thinking I was about to watch a slightly spooky toy-monkey thriller. Instead, what I got was a bloodbath thanks to a wind-up simian drummer that kills people with the enthusiasm of a carnival ride gone rogue. In between sips of sangria I laughed, winced, and politely excused myself when projectile vomited unexpectedly.
I seriously pondered whether I should drain the sangria barrel and hope for less dramatic outcomes or embrace the splatter fest and just have fun. Spoiler: it still ended with me face-planting on the couch and the toy monkey winning “most reliable chaos agent” of the year.
